The most anticipated film of the year, Leon Schuster’s Mr Bones 2: Back From The Past will have the biggest release ever for a South African film when it opens on 110 screens on 27 November 2008. As a result of unprecedented interest in Mr Bones 2, special preview screenings have been arranged at selected cinemas across the country on Saturday, 22 November and Sunday, 23 November. The film which stars Leon Schuster along with Leeanda Reddy, Kaseran Pillay, Tongayi Chirisa, Meren Reddy, Keith Gengadoo and funny man Alfred Ntombela, is directed by Gray Hofmeyr and produced by Anant Singh and Helena Spring.
Mr Bones 2 had its World Premiere at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban on 13 November. The film received a phenomenal response with the audience breaking out in raucous laughter throughout the film.
Schuster’s unique brand of comedy has made him South Africa’s No.1 Box Office Superstar and the foremost box office attraction in South Africa. He is the mastermind behind the phenomenally successful films, Mr Bones which broke all South African box office records and outgrossed all Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings films. Additionally, four of Schuster’s films, viz. Mr Bones, Mama Jack and Oh Schuks, I’m Gatvol have outgrossed all James Bond films. Schuster also holds the distinction of having three films in the All Time Top 10 Grossing Films in South Africa which includes Mr Bones, Mama Jack and Panic Mechanic.
