Durban was treated to a rare dose of Hollywood glamour with the World Premiere of Mr Bones 2: Back From The Past at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban last night. The glittering event saw guests walk down the red carpet while the Mayor of Durban, Obed Mlaba and lead stars, Leon Schuster, Leeanda Reddy, Kaseran Pillay, Tongayi Chirisa, Meren Reddy, Keith Gengadoo and Alfred Ntombela made a grand appearance in true Durban style in a rickshaw! Adding to the glitz was the presence of a host of paparazzi and television crews capturing the arrivals of guests on the red carpet.
There was a strong turn-out of the City’s celebrities and other high profile individuals, among whom were Deputy Mayor, Logie Naidoo, City Manager, Dr Michael Sutcliffe, members of the Sharks rugby team; violinist In-Cha,; singers, Jae and Verde; television personalities, Jailoshni Naidoo, Sarika Ramlakan and Junita Leopardi; film director, Junaid Ahmed; Judge President of KwaZulu Natal, Vuka Tshabalala and Judge Philip Levinsohn; popular MC and theatre personalities Bheki Mkhwane and Terence Pillay; model boss Danny Moodliar and model Lungile Mthembu.
Durban made a perfect setting for the World Premiere of Mr Bones 2 as most of the film was shot on location in and around the city. Among the major Durban locations used are the Dakota Informal Settlement in Isipingo Beach, Umhlanga, La Mercy, Verulam and Blue Lagoon. Mr Bones 2 has a further Durban connection with stars Leeanda Reddy, Kaseran Pillay and Keith Gengadoo having their roots in the City.

Mr Bones 2: Back From The Past is a Videovision Entertainment production in association with the SABC, Distant Horizon and Mr Bones (Pty) Ltd.
