Statement from Anant Singh on the passing of Govin Reddy
It is with shock and great sadness that I learnt of the death of Govin Reddy this morning.
Govin played many significant roles in our society, from an anti-apartheid activist who was jailed and then forced into exile, an academic, to a media executive. He was a key player in the transformation of the SABC and we acknowledge his contribution to this institution. We also thank him for his contribution to the media industry and for his tireless commitment to democracy.
I was fortunate to have had him as a friend and will always cherish this valued friendship.
My heartfelt condolences go to his wife Tessa and his children Priya, Sudeshan, Maika, Niall and the extended Reddy Family. I wish them strength and courage during this difficult time of bereavement.
