Producer, Anant Singh announced today that the highly acclaimed film, Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom will be available in South Africa on Blu-ray and DVD from tomorrow, 28 March 2014.
Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, based on Nelson Mandela’s autobiography, ‘Long Walk To Freedom’, spans Mandela’s extraordinary life journey from his childhood in a rural village through to his inauguration as the first democratically elected President of South Africa. The film tells the inspirational story of an ordinary man who rose to the challenge of his times and triumphed, and is an intimate portrait of the making of a modern icon.
The film was released at cinemas in South Africa in November last year and became one of the most critically acclaimed and best reviewed films of 2014. Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom received 4 international awards including the Golden Globe for Best Original Song, as well as 18 international nominations which included the Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song and Golden Globe Nominations for Best Actor and Best Original Score.
