George Clooney and Grant Heslov won the Osella for Best Screenplay at the 62nd Venice International Film Festival for the film, Good Night. And, Good Luckwhich is also directed by George Clooney who also stars in the film, while the Coppa Volpi for Best Actor was won by David Strathairn for his role as Edward R. Murrow in the film. Videovision Entertainment has acquired the South African distribution rights to the film.
Good Night. And, Good Luck stars George Clooney, Robert Downey Jr., David Strathairn, Patricia Clarkson, Jeff Daniels and Frank Langella. The film was shot in black-and-white and is set during the McCarthy-era witch hunts of the 1950s. Good Night. And, Good Luck is a tale of broadcasting courage and tells the story of broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow’s efforts to expose the hounding tactics of Senator Joseph McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee in their anti-communist crusade. The film is Clooney’s second film as director.
